During the Christmas holiday period, I made some simple plaster carvings. I was after a simple contrast of rough and smooth surfaces. I also added a few lines here and there, and think there may be some useful correspondances with my pastel work, generally. I really enjoyed doing these little pieces, and think plaster is a wonderful medium.

During the autumn, I made a series of smaller pastel works. The smaller scale allowed me time to complete more ideas, and it felt very satisfying to work in this way. More may follow. Images included here.
