Tree abstracts

I took these photos at Brayton Barff, the local woods I have been photographing on and off for over two years, now.  I keep returning to these striking white trunks which stand out like chalk lines against a darker background.  In fact, this motif has been used by the artist David Blackburn in more abstract terms.  I met him a couple of times and saw some of his work in progress, which was exciting.

I also tried to get more of a black and white contrast in some of these pictures, as I thought the subject reminded me of bar codes.
