Changing Industrial Landscape

My good friend Hamish invited me to go out with him on a photo-taking trip last Sunday.  He had been recording the remains of buildings in between various stages of demolition at a local industrial site.  Over time, we had each photographed aspects of the site.  On this visit, most of what I had photographed previously was now gone.  What remained were shapes and marks, signs of the former presence of structures.

                                          Above: Before     Below: After

Above: The rusted aspect of the storage tanks.
Below: A rusty old can at the edge of the site.

I liked the degraded numbers on the tanks, now gone.

Grave Situation

Now I know this might seem rather morbid, but recently, I have become curious about the many gravestones in the churchyard that have become overgrown. The small areas which are yet visible drew my eye. I wonder if they should all be fully restored as social history, and as a reminder of the saints (and sinners!) who have gone before?

When will Winter wend it's way?

Winter just keeps coming back!

This is the view from out of my studio window.  I've cropped them to emphasise the textures and the geometric shapes.
